Currently have production databases setup in a data guard scenario. Have analysts that require to test on non data guard database. Need current data from our production database for testing so need to clone to separate box for the testing.
Not sure of process to follow since their are parts of the data guard database that seem to pertain entirely to the ability to fail over to the standby databases.
Has anyone faced this situation and if so, how do I do it?

You can consider making an appropriate initialization file (ie. one without the standby configuration) for the clone database and if the two systems have connectivity to one another, Create a Duplicate Database with RMAN or you can consider Restore and Recovery of the Database on a New Host.
