When installing Grid Control, the GUI stops at about 70% and throws an error: Error in invoking target 'dm_on ioracle' of makefile '/ORA/dbs02/oracle/oemgrid/db10g/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk'. See '/ORA/dbs01/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2008-02-11_04-05-57PM.log' for details.
The installActions log shows:
INFO: /ORA/dbs02/oracle/oemgrid/db10g/rdbms/lib/opimai.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized
INFO: collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
INFO: make: *** [/ORA/dbs02/oracle/oemgrid/db10g/rdbms/lib/oracle] Error 1
I have seen references to this error that point to misinstallations of gcc and g++, but those both seem to be installed:
# gcc -v

What type of LINUX are you ?
What Release of GRID CONTROL want install you ?
Where you have download the software?
The best election is:
Oracle Grid Control 10.2.0.1 and upgrade 10.2.0.4, but first you must to install the 10.2.0.1 becuase the other release are patches and not contains the complete software
The best place to download is edelivery.oracle.com

This may be key: I am trying to install 10.2.0.3, as it seemed to be a complete release. Could the problems I've reported be related to an "incomplete" installation of the wrong version?
BTW, I've never used edelivery.oracle.com before, but the latest Grid Control version listed for Linux there is "10.2.0.4.0" (9 parts/3.2GB). Is this a complete release? 10.2.0.1 is not listed there.

hi
the 10.2.0.4 ia a patch release to 10.2.0.1. You can download the 10.2.0.4 release of grid control from edelivery because this version contains the release 10.2.0.1 and the patch
check your prerequisites and download the last versions of the linux packages.
Check your kernel parameters like the prerequisites of grid control need.
