Hello All,

I want to know how and where do we configure or assign the hostname on Red Hat Linux AS4 .

When I give

[root@localhost 10.2.0]# uname -a
Linux localhost 2.6.9-22.ELsmp #1 SMP Mon Sep 19 18:32:14 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[root@localhost 10.2.0]# hostname
localhost

Can someone help me out .

Type neat at the terminal
or
# vi etc/hosts

edit /etc/hosts

give your hostname here

and

/etc/sysconfig/network

change HOSTNAME in above file and reboot box
