Use export utility of release less or equal than server (the best is equal), never greater.
Your exp is 8.1.7 and your database is 8.1.6.

or i should get a third party utility?
NO, no need to buy anything.
export utiltiy is exist on Oracle Server and Oracle Client.

Here is your client exp binary is higher than your Server that is why you getting error, so you should use your server export binary to export your database.

Check Micheal reply in previous post.

The actual problem is that you export program version is 8.1.7 that is greater than your database one which is 8.1.6.
Full stop.

Use the correct exp.
If you didn't scramble your installation it is in the server Oracle home.

Hi Mickel,

Need a clarification on your point above.
You said.
Causes of the error, because the export version is 8.1.7 and the Database version is 8.1.6.

Q1:
How this conflict can happen. Because I'm running export utility on the same database, which needs to be exported.

Q2:
Can we use one Database's export utility for exporting other database's schema?

Q3:
Which export and import version will be taken by default, if I have 2 DB (9 & 10g)

Thanks in advance

Q1) Already answered: "Use export utility of release less or equal than server (the best is equal), never greater."
Q2) Yes, if it follows the previous rule
Q3) See above: export with the lowest database version
