setting the PATH=%ORACLE_HOME\bin;%PATH%
ORACLE_SID=orcl
emctl start dbconsole
fails with
the specified service does not exist as an installed service
how do you start the dbconsole.
using service starts but
emctl status dbconsole after 5 minutes show service not running.
any help

How do i know its using a repository.
It is EM database control and created when installing the oracle database using dbca - it did not show that it was using a repository.

When i start the service from the control panel, the service starts ok
emctl status dbconsole
service is running
after 5 minutes
emctl status dbconsole
service is not running.
why is the service starting and stopping. Checking from the control panel shows its started.

The dbconsole service starts and you are able to open the EM login page, log in successfull but after 5minutes the service stops and the page erros.

in the file emdb.nohup
i'm getting the following errors when the dbconsole service starts and after some minutes dies (stops running)
..
EMAgent has exited due to an internal error
EMAgent has exited due to an internal error ---
DBConsole internal stop. NO OC4J admin passwd hence hard stop..
... commiting process death
... Exited due to thrash..
any help..

Hi this is for a RAC database 2 nodes.
do i recreate the repository with the following
commands;
%ORACLE_HOME%\bin\emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate
on the one node where dbconsole runs from?

Will this command affect the instance on which the dbconsole service is running from? We only have the dbconsole on one node. i.e will it stop the instance services. Cause there is no separate database keeping the repository? im scared this may stop the instance!

What about recreating the repository? is the EM repository in the instance. dbconsole is a separate service but what about the repository.

dbconsole service and repository is not separate.
whenever you want to create/recreate/drop EM repository you have to first stop their services and that is "dbconsole" services
