Hello,
I have big problem with install Oracle database: free realase

my OS is Win XP with SP2
hardware Sempron 2500, 960MB Ram, lot of free disc space

till this day i used Oracle full release 10g - but it was only for student's purposes so i need to change it

so i've changed it (downloaded from oracle site)

I have framework, java sdk and any needed tool but when
i click on oracleXE.exe file i have strange message (in DOS console) that "i have not enaugh memory to run application"

I gave to system 1,5 GB virtual memory (960MB phisical - 700 is free)

& I have not solve my problem - I'm little confused

could Somebody help me, and give me some instructions to solve it?

greetings

You have said that u have 960 MB RAM. This indicates that you RAM is having memory hole because any memory is maid in the ratio of 2 to the power. 960 MB doesnot fall under this theory. Either u should have 1024 MB or 512 MB. please contact the vendor from where u have bought.

jeeeeee

thx

i have 1024 MB but GPU takes 64 so ... no its 960 - so it can be ... it's not any memory hole ... :/

and
RAM must not be size of power of 2 ... it could be sum of power of 2 ... for every slot
example:
2^9 + 2 ^8 Very Happy

greetings

waiting for some other reason ... of my problems
