Hi,

is it possible to setup a standby database with oracle snapshot and replication methods?

Can this be done with the script here:
http://www.orafaq.com/scripts/index.htm#ADVREP

and the information here:
http://www.orafaq.com/faqrepl.htm

Or does we need Enterprise Edition?

Regards,
Thomas

Maybe. To quote the Oracler Licensing Guide:

"Basic replication (which is available with Standard Edition and Standard Edition One) provides support for read-only and updatable materialized views (for replication) and multitier materialized views. Standard Edition and Standard Edition One databases can also act as a master site for materialized views, but cannot participate in multimaster replication."

Best regards.

Frank

OK, sounds good.

But does basic replication also works with two oracle installations on different OS´s (Linux/AIX)?

Thomas
