6 to 12 month contract opportunity for a Lead Oracle DBA. Must work on-site Mon - Fri. Must have RAC experience.
As Lead DBA, create and maintain large Oracle databases on UNIX
Recommend and implement solutions on database and application architecture, database performance, integrity, security and availability
Perform database administration activities including monitoring, schema management, space management, performance tuning, SQL tuning, database backup and recovery, disaster recovery, data replication, and database refresh
UNIX scripting (database maintenance-related)
Mentor developers, other DBAs
Support application development throughout entire SDLC
Required Skill set:
Expert level proficiency in Oracle 9i/10g concepts, features and implementation
Experience in code migration, database schema management and data management through the various stages of the SDLC
Oracle High Availability (RAC)
Experience using data modeling tool (Power Designer or Erwin)
Deep knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL
Experience working with application architects/developers to develop database solutions
Desirable Skill set:
Oracle 10.x
Experience implementing Data Guard, Partitioning
Experience in large OLTP/DSS environments
Knowledge of EMC storage devices
Educational/Experience Requirements: At least 5+ years Oracle database administration; Experience as Lead Oracle DBA
Business Knowledge Needed: Primarily a technical position; must have good oral and written communication skills and be able to work with application developers and other Technology Engineering personnel
Additional Capabilities Needed: Must be willing to share on-call responsibilities and willing to work additional hours when requested. Must be a good team player and be able to mentor other DBAs and developers.
