Dear All,

I am trying to export a Database in 10g from a client machine having 9i client software and exp.exe utility.

I am getting the error
exp-00003 no storage definition found for the segment (7,255)

Information: The Billing_Record contains a Column with Datatype CLOB. All the other tables are exporting without fail.

Thank & Regards

The EXP-3 error occurs when the export is done with a lower release export utility.

What's the version of:
your client machine 9.x.x.x.x
Export Release 9.x.x.x.x
database 10.1.0.x.x

Rerun the export and specify the parameter COMPRESS=Y (this is the default value for COMPRESS).

If you have a table with a secondary object, e.g. a LOB column, then this workaround might
not work and you will re-produce the EXP-3 error during export.

I've noticed this 9i->9i on localy managed tablespaces for tables where there is a clob. It happens on empty and non-empty tables. There is some other factor as well but I haven't put my finger on it yet.

Hi,

Hi

Do any body have idea regarding missing data or missing constraints after export and import which is done with warnings
Recently i exported one of my schema to another schema which is newly created. While exporting i saw an error Exp-00003 No storage definition found for segment (Some Number,Some number) , i thought that beacuse of clob datatype in the table for which it showed warning and we ignored it . after some days we noticed the constraint primary key missing on the table which the source schema use to have
Do any body have idea why the warning is coming and why it is missing every time i export?
what is the alternative i can go through and take care from now onwards , pls help me ,it is going to be serious issue now.

Even i tried this

exp system/sbsystem@orcl.smart-bridge.com file=\\jupiter\TONIK\DailyBackups\tonikco_dev_feb24_1.dmp owner=tonikco_dev COMPRESS=Y

It did not work, so i used dbexp where i used only exp upto yesterday , Now i want to use Dbexp for advanced features
But my Dos is giving me error unknown command
"
'dbexp' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Pls help me in solving one by one , Embarassed
"
Thank you

Insufficient information.
Always post Exact error message ( Please do NOT explain the error message.Especially like this "Some Number,Some number" .Makes no sense to us). Post the exact errors, oracle version, OS version etc, and what you did ( commands)
Seems there are different versions of oracle involved.
Never export with COMPRESS=y and there is nothing called as dbexp ( may be, expdp in 10g).

Oh .. Sorry , i mean expdb only , but it is issuing the same error

'expdb' is not recognized as an
operable program or batch file.

what i need to do , if my export utility has to be updated .

the (NO,No) is EXP-00003: no storage definition found for segment(8, 11369)

Even though the data is missing , its ok , but i need to know the reason why the constraint is missing (Primary key ) for that particular table which is showing the warning , and i need to rectify that

Thank you

Again, missing information.
No information on version involved.
Seems Source and target databases are of DIFFERENT versions.
>>Oh .. Sorry , i mean expdb only

Itis expdp. Not expdb
>>but i need to know the reason why the constraint is missing (Primary key ) for that particular table which is showing the warning , and i need to rectify that

Post the relevant portion of the log.
Maybe, you did have a constraint violation during import.

Hello,
I have the same problem with clob.
Export does not 10.2.0.1 with clob.
you have to patch in 10.2.0.3 and that's OK.
