Hi Archana.

Read this Artical..

Learn how to diagnose Oracle system performance problems quickly and solve them permanently, no matter where those problems occur in the technology stack. Learn how to evaluate tuning recommendations and distinguish helpful ones from those that waste your time or actually hurt your system performance.

Hotsos Clinic students learn an economically optimized performance problem diagnosis and repair method that transcends Oracle versions. Students reduce their employers’ vulnerability to wasteful recommendations and their reliance upon expensive tools and outside specialists.

Target Audience
Database or system administrators, application developers, and consultants who are responsible for optimizing Oracle system performance.

Instructional Format
The three-day training course is instructor-led lecture with open-floor questions and answers. The rapid learning pace is reinforced with frequent real-world examples from the instructors’ and participants’ experiences.

Instructors
The course is presented by Cary Millsap and Jeff Holt.

Syllabus
The course is organized into the following segments.

Welcome: Introduction and logistics.
Hotsos Performance Optimization Method: A repeatable scientific approach that maximizes economic efficiency by optimizing the process of system performance optimization.
Oracle Diagnostics: Technical discussion about how to collect and interpret Oracle level-8 trace data and performance data in v$ pseudotables.
Oracle Processing: The performance characteristics of Oracle latch serialization, fetching, parsing, and executing.
Oracle Kernel Events: The basic meaning of over a dozen commonly encountered top consumers of Oracle system response time.
SQL Optimization: An introduction to a repeatable method that simplifies the SQL optimization process.
Batch Queue Management: How to manage performance with a mixed workload of batch jobs and interactive system users.
Conclusion: Recap of the course and, time permitting, discussion of selected topics from the instructors’ and students’ experiences.
Demonstrations and Case Studies: After class formally adjourns, the instructors open the classroom to additional guests who wish to view demonstrations of Hotsos methods and products in solving case studies chosen from Hotsos customer experiences. Students and guests are encouraged to bring Oracle level-8 trace files for in-class diagnosis.
Course Materials
Each student receives a more than 200-page clinic notebook, plus on-line access to documents and tools at hotsos.com, including a limited number of Hotsos Profiler uses.

Prerequisites
Students are expected to have a working knowledge of Oracle and SQL, either through experience as a database or system administrator or application developer. Also helpful are experience with computer programming and knowledge of operating systems internals at the level of an introductory college course in time-sharing computer operating systems. Hotsos provides each student with additional preparation instructions in advance of the event.
