Hi
I am soumendra working in oracle platform . Is it possible to load oracle 8i and developer 2000 in same machine having pentium iv processor having windows nt platform. Or there is any specifix way to load it . i comfertably load oracle but loading developer showing me problem . it will overwrite universal installer of oracle showing me the message windows nt log file not found.

Myself Hemant i am working on same platform.
On NT server oracle 8i and developer we are also facing the same problem of connectivity with oracle but in lower versions of Oracle D2k it is possible to load.

Hello Folks,

As far as connectivity of Oracle 8i and Forms 6i is concerned it has got nothing to do with the hardware whether pentium4 or 3 is not the matter. It works fine on Oracle9i connectivity with forms 6i

Yes, you can install Developer 2000 and Oracle Database in the same machine.
The trick is you have to install Developer 2000 before install the Database (sound unreasonable) but it will work.
When you install the 8i Database, just give different directory for it (example: Developer 2000 will install in C:ORANT then you install 8i database in C:Oracle)
Give different name for ORACLE_HOME.

Dear friend,
install both the softwares in different homes means oracle in oracle home and developer in d2k home and it willl run.

rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.old and then start the setup ...

configure it correctly. Then it works porperly.

you have to set the tnsnames. in developer folder. select tnsnames.ora file and create an new service and then connect with @service_name.
exp.
scott/tiger@service_name.
