Hi Vicki Ticen,
I am workin in Ericsson India and I just bought a Home PC P4 1.6 GHz 850 Intel Motherboard. I was facing this problem when I TRIED TO INSTALL from a Oracle 8i Personal CD. Whereas my friends did the installation in one shot. I could not even think that this may happen !! But then as ususal I thought lets search the web and then I got your solution. It worked fine and I finished making database last night !!
