Jen,
Thanks for taking the time to submit such a detailed response. I was hopeful that your solution would work for me. I followed your instructions (edited the registry and deleted oracle hotkeys) but each time I try to delete the Oracle directory (which was named ORANT during my initial install) I get a message saying Cannot delete CORE40.DLL: Access is denied.
Of course I tried to use the Oracle Installer to uninstall Oracle but that doesn't work. The screen disappears immediately, and the file structure is left wholly intact. I can't believe that I should have to re-format my hard drive just to get this off of my machine. Have you any more suggestions?
fyi, this is the Oracle 8i version and I am currently running Windows XP on my PC.
