Hello, I have loaded Personal editition 8.1.5. I got SQL+ to work fine. But when I go to Forms6i to connect, it gives me a
'ORA:-12154: could not resolve service name', is this a bug in the OUI? Is there anyway to install this so that Forms6i also can connect to the db?
Thanks,
ISBN:0-13-032354-3 = (CD install id)
I get no error message when installed, I loaded the Forms CD, first, everything seemed to go fine, I did this according to the Oracle site for this book.(8i)
Thanks,
I have SQL Server on my system and IIS5.0,can this be a problem too?

did you update all of the Tnsnames? I know on my computer, there are 5 different tnsnames, each one seems to be used by a different program. Hence, change one and sqlplus may work, but formsa may not.

hi,

u can follow these steps.
1. first create a tns name say for eg(orad2k) from the net8 config tool under the forms6i program group. (p.s. there might also be a net8 config tool under oracle 8i database program group, but u should create a new tns entry from the net8 config tool under forms6i program group)

2. when u connect to the database from forms6i give the tnsname which u created in the first step in the connect string column.

hope this helps.
