Hi
I have a Linux 9 installation in which I want to install Oracle 9i. Using the instructions on http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml when I tried to run the runInstaller, I got the following error:
Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /temp/............

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Internal Error : Can't connect to X11 window server using "0.0" as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

at sun.awt.........
at sun.awt........
.............

I am installing oracle on my desktop, not on a network node.

Anybody has an idea what could've gone wrong?

seems you have issues wiht X11.
depending on the linux distribution, you may need to apply recent updates (rpm's)
try
xhost +x
and try again.
