i want to find out the size of a process in linux.how memory it is taking .In solaris u can use PMAP but in linux is there any option.i wat to know the size of a process in linux.

Hi,

The easiest way to check memory usage is by executing
"top". Look at the VIRT (VIRTual memory) and RES
(RESident size) columns.

Also consider using the "pmap" and "ps" commands.

What command can I use on linux to display the process size/memory taken up by process upto byte level resolution?
