Hi,

I am facing following problem in installing Oracle 9i on RHL 9

Error in invoking target install of makefile /home/oracle/product/9.0.1/plsql/ins_plsql.mk

I have already tried the solution suggested for RHL 7.1/2/3 (editing genclntsh and removing -z defs and running this script). Even after this fix when I click Retry button I get the above error again.

When I try to run genclntsh after removing "-z defs" I get this error.

cp: cannot stat `/DISCARD/': No such file or directory
Created /home/oracle/product/9.0.1/lib/libclntst9.a

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Jitendra Agrawal.

Hi -

I am having a different problem when I try to start the database by typing sqlplus /nolog from the bash prompt it gives me the following error:

sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.9.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have been try to look for the file libclntsh.so.9.0 in all the directories it just doesn't seem to have it. Could someone help me out whith this problem. I have tried typing the error on google but I have not found anyone who has the same problem.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Regards
