This is the situation....

I have multiple clients insert/update a table in Oracle. I want to write a trigger to notify an external Java program that is running remotely and listening to a port, about the change, so that I can spawn a thread to something.

Can someone suggest a way of doing this? I am a Java guy and have no clue how to intiate calls from Oracle. I looked at this http://www.stanford.edu/dept/itss/docs/oracle/9i/appdev.920/a96590/adg11rtn.htm
But it talks about loading java class into Oracle's JVM or something like that, if I unserstood it correct.

Thanks for your replies.
