Hi,

I am using oracle 8i on solaris 8. when i am trying to make a connection using jdbc, i am getting an error at the url that i gave. I guess the problem could be with the port number that i gave. i gave 1521 as the port number. but i am not sure whether this is correct.

Can anyone help me find the find the port no. on which oracle is running? or where can i find the port number?

thanks in advance,
rajeev

Check your listener.ora at the server(host).
it will show which port is in use.
