Does the standby server has to be the same hardware spec as the production server in the data guard configuration? As I read in the document that the OS, Oracle version and platform has to be the same.

You can use smaller Harware as long Oracle-Version and Platform are identical, i.e. use as 8 processor solaris 8 system for production and a 4 processors solaris 8 system as fall back/standby db

hi
Has any body tried logical Standby database setup. I have been trying to setup that and found some bugs.
Oracle version 9.2.0.2 on HP.
