Hi,
We have a datawarehouse application which is runninig on winNT and on solaris 8.The time to load appx 1million record is 20mins in windows while it is 3 hours on solaris.Why this huge difference? The database parameters/objects apllication code are the same.Only difference is the platform.Unable to crack this problem.Help appreciated immediately.

What is the difference in the hardware?
and in any OS, there are a certain parameters to be tuned.

Good Observation..
can u pls provide with some more information.which database your using Oracle Or Teradata.

In Our project also we faced problem of similar kind, by tunning some parameters we achieved our goal..But the thing in your case showing huge difference.
Pls provide me with , which database your using..
