Hi there
I have query take too mush time to execute
My OS : Winods XP Professinal
Product : Oracle 9i database

I check the Oracle Performance manager I found the SGA Ratio is 100%
& there is more than 70% free memory in the Shared Pool

I checked the Wait event to see the top event & I found DB File Sequential Read Is very high

Please how can I reduce the DB File Sequential Read
Because I think this is the problem or how can i make my guery faster ??

Hi,

Did you first tune your statement to choose the optimal path before checking your configuration ?
Most of the time, about 95% of the performance gains are in tuning faulty queries instead of tuning the database...

i don't know how to check the optimal path ?
& can i do it without change the code in the application because i can't change the code ?

Oh dear, can't change code; this will become tough.
Search the docs for the use of statspack to see where the actual pain is.
