Is there a general rule of thumb or forumula to help decide when to use a bitmap index? I know that you should use them if you have low cardinality, but I assume that's in relation to the size of the table.

Hi,
There is no thumb rule but.. you should use bitmap index when your column has less distinct value and the size of table is significatly large
