In our group we have some different thoughts.I mean Direct path vs Conventinal path

1)Both parameters fetching data from disc into buffer cache. am i right ??

2) Direct path skips SQL BUFFER i mean (EVALUATION BUFFER) am i right ??

If so ,

3)purpose of evaluation buffer is it checking username /password ????

4) sql buffer , is it evaluation buffer ??

Thanks and Regards
Thiyagu.G

when all else fails Read The Fine Manual via URL below

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/index.htm

read all 52 occurrences for "direct path"

If you do not understand words previously written in the Fine Manual above,
why should I waste my time writing same words here ( & have you not understand them here)?

How will your behavior change after you understand what evaluation buffer does?

if you don't answer our questions to you, why should we answer your questions.

Please read and follow the forum guidelines, to enable us to help you:

realize that exp & imp are obsoleted & have been replaced by expdp & impdp
