Sir, i use cp on rhel4 it is working but my question is how i change backup datafile name into original file name for performing user managed recovery.
ex.(cp '/u01/oracle/../FRA/backup/tdst_t20111216_.bkp' '/u01/oracle/oradata/tdst_t20111216_.bkp')
now my datafile backup move to its original location where all other datafile store. how i rename this backup file so my recover command can understand this is backup file.
Pls Reply...RMAN concept it is ok...same procedure follow.

I don't understand the question, rename the file as it was originally.
Or is this NOT a user managed backup but a RMAN one?

Michel
