Hi

How can I catalog a backuppice in oracl9i

in Oracle 10g CATALOG comman has BACKUPPICE clause but in
ORACLE 9i it doesn't have it

I don't know how can I catalog and use backupset files that aren't in their original location

do you know a solution for this issue in oracle9i ?

thanks

1) Make the backupsets available in original location . If not possible, mimic the location using symlinks etc.
2) Certain versions of 9i are compatible with 10g RMAN. So use 10g RMAN to catalog and restore. Check compatibility matrix.
3) If you are using catalog, use CHANGE command with AVAILABLE option to make rman know that the backupset again.
