Hi all

I am facing problem during imp FYI

RV10GT(oracle):/home/oracle>imp '"sys/sys as sysdba"' file=/home/oracle/rv41_ap_blank25july11.dmp full=y log=/home/oracle/rv41_ap_blank25july11.log

Import: Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production on Thu Aug 18 17:33:06 2011

Connected to: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production

IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully


please help me ..

Seems your dmp file is corrupt.
Did you FTP the file?

And the versions are way different.

But I don't that is the problem. 8i to 10g should be possible.

importing using V8.1.6 utility into V10 DB could be problematic.

Which DB was source version & which version of "exp" utility created the dump file?

but database version is 10.2.0 ... this is condition of my client(USA) server.

post results from following OS commands

id
env | sort

it appears that PATH is not as desired/expected.

What is not possible is not possible.
imp 8.1.6 can't understand an export file from 10.2.
So change the client for a 10.2 one or do not import.
