Hi All,

I am trying to install oracle 11gR2 64-bit on windows XP 64-bit Operating System, after the completion of the steps where I ahve to enter the path for the ORACLE BASE and other parameters when I click next and then Finish, I receive an error, you can check in the attachment.

Please if some one can help me out of this, it will be great help

I have tried so many times Sir but everytime it is giving the same error. Do not understand why but earlier is was able to install the same setup of other machine with same configuration.

Did you deinstall and remove all Oracle stuff before reinstalling?
Did you verify the checksum of your downloaded file against the value Oracle gives?

If I am not wrong are you as asking that If I have check the size of the files that I have downloaded, if this is wat you mean by CHECKSUM then, Yes sir I have verified that.

These was no oracle installed earlier on this machine as this is fresh machine provided to us by the IT Department.

but it seems Oracle does not give it for XE, so forget.

OK but you said you reinstalled, so now there are some Oracle stuff on the machine and my question is "did you remove ALL oracle stuff before reinstalling?"

Bug 10389420 11202_WIN.X64_101207: INSTALLER ERRORS - SETENV.DLL INCORRECT APPLICATION CONFIG

This is due to a missing dependency of the Oracle installer requiring the microsoft VC++ redistributable libraries.

SOLUTION

This is fixed in 11.2.0.3.0 and later.

For 11.2.0.2.0 and 11.2.0.1.0 a work around exists to

1. Install the vc++ redistributable libraries.

These can be found in Microsoft products such as .Net framework 3.5, Visual Studio 2005 or later.

2. Install Oracle

This does not occur on 32 bit windows platforms.
