Hi, guys
I was learning Oracle and got the certificated(OCA) at college. But due to some reasons, I am doing automated test for mobile(almost 2 years now). Most of the oracle knowledge has gone from me, but I really interested on Oracle and really want to be an DBA at last.

But I can't get this kind of job(DBA), since most of the knowledge are lost and job are not related with Oracle.
I lost myself, could you help me with these problems:
1. Is that possible for me to turn to DBA?
2. How can I turn to Oracle again to get my knowledge back? I meant what kind of knowledge should I learn first and then what next?
3. Are there any ways to learn from normal PC and simulate some bad or unexpected situations on Oracle in real life?

I know I ask so many questions, but I really need someone's guide and encourages.
Thanks in advance.

BR,
Milo

Dont you know about DBA? as you are certified one?
1)1. Is that possible for me to turn to DBA?
Yes as a junior DBA ,But ffirst re collect your memory?(read the documents provided by oracle at tahiti.oracle.com)

2)and then what next?
Practise those what you have
3) they are so many ways

Hi, sriram
Thanks. Smile
No. I am not about DBA.
1). OK. I will do as your suggest. But it seems that too many docs. How can I use them, search when needed?
2). What would you practise? I meant when you know the target, you know you get something from practise.
3). What kind of ways you usually used ?

Thanks.

Milo

Miss Milo ,
what I mean is you are already certified so you know the concepts?
So again re collect them (usin your notes)
OR read the manual(administrator guide, concept guide..
sql/plsq refernce, performance tuning ,version new features etc..).

Oracle student volumes has so many information with pictures..
ofcource the Oracle manuals are also important.

So first read ,understand and practise then come back here if any doubts...
browse oracle forums those have so many real life problems...
Good luck

"We should not discuss student volumes" is VERY different from "We should not supply the content" (of student volumes).

Indeed. Now we have a starting reference to post when we are asked what is a DBA, what are the tasks of a DBA and so on.
