Hi,

The Application server backup with 9.0.1.4.0 on HP-UX platform facing acute memory high (100%) usage, As i noticed nothing has been change since two weeks.

This problem started from last two days, I noticed the "http(ps -ef |grep httpd |wc -l" output increase unexpectedly.

After reaching 100%memory the users unable to connect application & database.

Even after restarting opmnctl the httpd process did not decrease.

#My concern issue httpd is fi9 or this is its normal behaviour
#Iam planning to change dbc_max_pct from 50 to 20 does this workout.

I appreciate expert views upon this issue.

Kill the process but if nothing has changed then nothing has changed including cpu consumption, so if cpu consumption has changed then something has changed.

Michel

Hello Michel,

After killing the "http" user connection process the memory reduced 2% and again increased drastically.

High memory effects during 'http' user connection process.

Hello Michel,

Is there anything to be set in Apache.conf or httpd.conf may be due to users increase the httpd sessions also increase which consumes more memory.

Yea. Had this problem some years ago. The AS starts two processes for every user but only gets rid of one of them when the user is finished. Our AS engineer 'NOP'ed the call that started the second (or was it first?) process and after that we had no more problems. Unfortunately, that means ZAPing Oracle's executable code which is, of course, not supported by Oracle.
