Hi

I want to take the export of the database from the Sun Solaris Server to my windows machine with the help of expdp .
Please help me out.

Expdp is server side. The resulting dump will be written in the database server's filesystem.
Within the same OS, you can easily nfs mount / Share filsystems across nodes.
It is doable across OS also. Use something like Samba.

I have read the manual sir ....
But I am not understanding how with the help of network link i will take the backup at my local machine .
I have oracle 10g client installed on my machine. When i login into the remote database and created a directory on my local machine the expdp not able to read that directory

Did you?
Atleast the pointed URL?
It clearly says in first few paragraphs.
Expdp is serverside.

But exp use to take the backup at the client side ... how expdp depreceates itself ..

I do not understand what you mean with how does expdp deprecate itself.

exp is a client side tool
expdp is a server side tool

They are two different tools. exp still exists.
