Hello everyone!

I want to find out cons & pros of RMAN before using it. Can you help me with the list of them?
I'm interested in RMAN in compare with other ORACLE backup tools (exp and others) too.

Thank you.

export is NOT a backup tool.
There is no other Oracle backup tool than RMAN.
I don't see any con.

Regards
Michel

The link I've provided gives information about advantages of RMAN over user-managed backup method

However, you can't backup logical structure of the database using RMAN. FOr example, you can't backup tables, views, procedures and etc. using RMAN. RMAN can backup only physical structure of the database

There're two types of backup in Oracle. User Managed and RMAN backup. RMAN has advantages over User Managed backup method which you can find in the link I've provided
