Hi Experts

I was asked by my manager to setup Data Guard for high availability and protection of our DB system. To start with, i have gone through tutorials and guide. I am concentrating on the below article for setting physical standby DB.
http://www.orafaq.com/node/2030

What i understood from the article is that i should install two database (oracle 10g R2) on different machines at same oracle home (Installed Oracle Path). What does Flash recovery Area and OMF used for Physical standby database means? as I have installed it on default option not on advanced setting.

2- "Install Oracle database software without the starter database on the standby server". What does this statement refers to???

Your reply would be a key towards completing my assignment

Thanks

It is an option you have when you install Oracle.
Just do it and you will see this page and option.
