Hi Oracle Community,

1. Environment file already sourced and TNS_ADMIN path correctly set.

2. Starting the database listener using:
lsnrctl start TEST

3. The following error message is displayed:
"ld.so.1: lsnrctl: fatal: libclntsh.so.9.0: open failed: No such file or directory"

4. After investigation it has been noticed that
a. ORACLE_HOME/lib32 is present
b. ORACLE_HOME/lib is missing. The latter directory ought to contain the required library.

Can you kindly advise:
(i) either how the directory can be recreated (by downloading since the installation disks are unavailable).
(ii) or any possible workarounds.

Thanks in advance for your support.

As you are working on Solaris it is more likely you are in 64bit.
You should reinstall Oracle server 64bit.

Dear Michel,

Thank you for the interesting input. Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier the installation disks for the database are unavailable at this moment.

Would reinstalling Oracle Server overwrite the current setup or will it simply append the missing files?

Best Regards,

Overwrite and Oracle installer will warn you if the directory is not empty.
You can reinstall in another place but you have to change your ORACLE_HOME in your scripts/profiles/...

Hi Michel,

We have unsuccessfully been trying different ways to get the Oracle 9i DB installation disks.

Can you kindly advise from where it can be downloaded since it was not available on Oracle's E-delivery site as well?

Thanks for the helpful advise.

Cheers,
_X_S_
