Hi
Assume I have two identical databases.They both have same datafiles,controlfiles, structure is exactly same, except data..
The name of the first db is "AA" which is in archivelogmode (production database)
The name of the second db is "BB" which is in noarchivelogmode.

If I restore from "BB" db`s backup, can I apply archivelogs of "AA"? so that both have the same data..

No, you can't apply another database's archivelogs to a different database.

Hmmm

Let me try to explain again

if I restore BB from ALL of AA's backup, then AA becomes BB . . . .

Therefore, BB has same SCN of last AA backup. and so that I can apply AA`s archivelogs.

Little bit complicated to explain, but I hope you get me.

It depends upon how the backup of AA was accomplished.

By the way, why are you spending time here instead of simply doing what you are asking about?

From were I sit BB never is involved, except perhaps in your imagination.
