ORA-01555..during export [message #391085]

Dear Sir,

Please review my error during export of my schema.

EXP-00056: ORACLE error 1555 encountered
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 2 with name "RBS1" too small
. . exporting table SAL_LNCD_P.................................
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sir as the rollback segments created in 8i by dbca are small ,i created another bigger size RBS and made them online.

But still i face the same problem.
Is there any way to resize these already craeted rollback segments.becuase i cud not be able to resize them or drop them.

what should be the solution.

please help.

Please post complete command line doing the export.

The ORA-01555 is not caused by the export, but by different session doing lots of DML & COMMIT.

Stop this other process while export is running or increase size of Roll Back Segments.

V8.1.7 is very old & should be replaced ASAP.

This thread should be moved to Utilities sub-forum.

I am Planning the migration from 8i to 9.2,
but for my knowledge sake, i wanted to know how can the "size" of the automatically created rollback segments(RBS0,RBS1,RBS2..RBS6) be altered.

I suggest when you get to any version V9.2 or newer, that you discard OLD style ROLLBACK SEGEMENTS (RBS*) & start using "newer" UNDO segments.
