Hi!

Im realy new to backup/recovery.

Tried to restore a backup from tape. I got this in the log:

INF - restoring datafile 00012 to +ORA_3/db31/logmnr1.dbf
INF - channel ch00: reading from backup piece bk_ur1k60bqf_s3937_p1_t677392207
INF - ORA-19870: error reading backup piece bk_ur1k60bqf_s3937_p1_t677392207
INF - ORA-19507: failed to retrieve sequential file, handle="bk_ur1k60bqf_s3937_p1_t677392207", parms=""
INF - ORA-27029: skgfrtrv: sbtrestore returned error
INF - ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:
INF -    Backup file <bk_ur1k60bqf_s3937_p1_t677392207> not found in NetBackup catalog


Where do I start? How can I check if this file exists to begin with?

By checking your backup name and netbackup catalog.

This is NOT an Oracle error.
