Hi guys,

I have problem with Oracle restore.
I have one database. I backed up it. And I want to restore it in itself.

How to do that?
What am I write in target?
Target and restoring database is one, is it okay? Confused
Do you have example of the restoring procedure (restore itself)?

When I executed following command:
rman target sys@testins auxiliary / nocatalog

Displayed messages:

connected to target database: testins (not mounted)
using target database controlfile instead of recovery catalog
connected to auxiliary database: testins (not mounted)

You are confused with restoring a database and using an auxillary database.
How can you be connected to a database that you are about to restore?

Thanks for your reply.

Mahesh Rajendran, you are right. I confused.

1) Backup the database
2) Shutdown database
3) Start up database nomount
4) rman target sys@testins auxiliary / nocatalog

Than I don't know next step. Sad
I will not use the auxillary database.
Exactly, I don't know how to connect rman tool without auxillary database.

Thanks,
Enjgaa
