Hi,

can anybody help me solving the following scenarios.

1) I lost a datafile and when I try to restore and recover using RMAN, I got message that archivelog is missing. I found an archivelog is missing in the available archivelogs?

Eg: let's say archivelogs started from 1,2,3 .. and 11 is missing and from 12 archivelogs are available.

2) If it is with the cold or hot backups, how the problem can be solved?

3) Due to disk space unavailability, I changed the archivelog destination. if a datafile is missing, how can I recover? Some archivelogs are available in another destination. How can we mention the destinations at the time of recovery?

Regards,
suresh

2) You can't. You can only recover up to the last archived log before the missing one.

3) yes, change the parameter "log_archive_dest*" you use with "alter system".
