How to import .txt files into oracle 9i containing records more then 250 thousands. Kindly help me because excel conversion is not working here.

SQL*Loader might be an excellent option.

You can go for any one either Oracle*Loader or External tables.
But I believe Oracle*Loader is a better option in terms of performance. Smile

You believe is wrong. The engine is the SAME one.
And if you have some transformations external table is the far best way.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Actually I just opted for both methods in one case and in that I found SQL*Loader was faster.
May be due to some other issues SQL*Loader performed well than External Tables.
