i have a development db server machine with oracle version 8.1.7 at Redhat AS 3

Now i am trying to do a full import on this machine (full export was done at another machine with the same db and os versions)
but when export was going on ,after 1-day the machine was held and didn't respond properly and we couldn't even logged on this machine ,after waiting 4 days we reboot the machine and checked that the import didn't complete and then i check the alertlog file and got the following entries:

The control file record reached at maximum value. Set it to low. Like,
CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME = 0 in init.ora and perform import now.

Care about RMAN backup before setting CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME to zero.
